before the tour of the sixpoint craft ales brewery, relaxed a bit at rocky sullivan's - comfortable neighborhood dive bar, housed in the same buliding as the brewery. had the sampler of mozzarella sticks, jalepeno poppers, fries, calamari...standard bar pickins, a bit overfried...washed down with some sixpoint sweet action...ahhhh, good stuff.
one of the owner's gave the tour...youngish dude who reminded me of opie (of the "andy griffith show" played by ron howard)...had me in stitches at times, veering into anecdotes unrelated to beermaking, like how he once punched his head into the ceiling stuck when sleeping on a loft...and even taking a long pause to check the contents of the office refrigerator while the group of 20 heads looked perplexed, "the hell?" more of such moments and stories came aplenty like the rich stock of beer being made in front of our eyes.
have a taste of..."sweet action," "bengali tiger," "gorilla warfare," "hop obama". worth the trek out into the barrens of red hook.

short walk from IKEA, past the red hook farmers market (where fresh produce includes those grown right there on a small plot of land). obvious difference...the vendors now serve their food from trucks, as mandated by D.O.H. kinda disappointing...as a large part of the charm of going to the ball fields was the family picnic-style atmosphere experienced from the vendors serving food on tables, on the grass some feet from the soccer matches, the beautiful game. still, food is fantastico. had the mixed fish & shrimp ceviche, colombian sausage, and meat & cheese papusa. the rain had kept the crowds away, so we had the place to ourselves albeit in less than past summers' festive form. made me a bit melancholy. you done the ball fields wrong, D.O.H...jerkface.

came here looking for a chaise lounge for the office, for mid-day power naps. was nicely surprised by the chicken tenders...fries were crisp and hot. meatballs were tempting but it was mid-morning; my stomach gets annoyed for being up early on a weekend, lazy bastard. checked out the bathroom...taking my piss, i read that the urinal is waterfree for conservation...curious and thought it'd stink but didn't. clever swines those swedes. light skip in my step (rockin' my metallic gold pumas, bitches), bounced from chaise to chaise and ended with a 10-minute nap on the "arild" in light blue leather, the winner.
